EDUCATION is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.

Sikkim, a paradise located in the lap of mountains, is one of the most beautiful states of India and is hence one of the best tourist site to be visited. However, over the last couple of years, it is not only the tourism sector, but also the education system of Sikkim that is seizing the headlines. The literacy rate of the adults of Sikkim has risen from only 68.81% as recored in the 2001 census to more than 82%(comprising both males and females) as recorded in the 2011. Let's introduce you all to the role of Information technology in the Education System of Sikkim which is touching the sky nowadays.✨
Sikkim has a National Institute of Technology, currently operating from a temporary campus in Ravangla, South Sikkim, which is one of the ten newly sanctioned NITs by the Government of India under the 11th Five Year Plan, 2009. Sikkim University is the only central university in Sikkim. The private funded institution is the Sikkim Manipal University of Technological Sciences, which offers higher education in engineering, medicine and management. There are two state-run polytechnic schools: the Advanced Technical Centre (ATTC) and the Centre for Computers and Communication Technology (CCCT) -- which offer diploma courses in various branches of engineering. ATTC is situated at Bardang, Songram, and CCCT at Chisopani, Namchi. The campus of National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology of the Government of India, is at Pakyong in East Sikkim, and offers formal and informal education in the IT/ITES sector.
